After scooping the pool at last weeks WAMI’s, taking away 5 Wamingtons for Best Rock Act, Most Popular Act, Most Popular Live Act, Most Popular Album (Universes) and Best Male Vocalist (Ian Kenny), Birds Of Tokyo have decided to celebrate by doing a run of shows up north!
Since the release of their sophomore album Universes (still at #6 in the Air Charts after 43 weeks), it’s been a non stop ride for Birds Of Tokyo. A Gold Accredited Record that started with a #3 debut, two sold out national tours, three songs in the prestigious Triple J Hottest 100, a main stage slot on the national Big Day Out festival, showcases in Austin, Texas and the Viper Room in Los Angeles plus countless glowing reviews of their album and live shows.
Not content with sitting still, the Birds have decided to pack up the tour van and follow up their inclusion on the Splendour In The Grass festival bill and WAMI domination with a tour of shows in regional NSW and Northern Queensland.
This will be the first time the band has performed in any of these towns, and they are very excited to be finally taking Universes to the rest of Australia.
