Southern California’s metaphysical DIY badasses Horse The Band have signed to Roadrunner Records for Australia, New Zealand and Japan. This oft-misunderstood band of horses is currently in the studio recording their fourth full-length titled Desperate Living w/ producer Noah Shain at White Buffalo Studios in Los Angeles. An August release is expected.
Rapper Ill Bill, who is also the former bassist/vocalist of underground death metal band Injustice and the brother of self-proclaimed “death-rapper” Necro, has posted his new music video online for the song “War Is My Destiny.” The song features guest vocals from Soulfly/Cavalera Conspiracy/former Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera as well as a verse from the rapper Immortal Technique. The song is featured on Ill Bill’s latest album, “The Hour Of Reprisal” which also features guest vocals from Killswitch Engage frontman Howard Jones. It’s actually a pretty cool video so check it out below:
“The DVD” is a documentary looking at the rise and rise of the Byron juggernaut. Featuring archival footage dating right back to the early days, the film follows the quintet from humble beginnings on the beaches of the NSW North Coast to storming stages all over the world. Directed and edited by the band, “The DVD” is both a travelogue of their adventures and an inspiring chronicle of their ascendancy. Packed with live and behind-the-scenes content, it features interviews with all five members as well as many of the key players crucial to their success. As an added bonus, the disc will also feature a full live set shot at Sydney’s Roundhouse in December of last year. See the official trailer below:
With “The DVD” due in stores on August 7, Parkway Drive are set to embark on a fresh bout of national touring throughout August. The band’s first Australian jaunt for 2009, it comes hot on the heels of their latest triumphs abroad. Joining them on the tour will be Pennsylvania metalcore heroes August Burns Red and Brighton, UK’s metal/hardcore crossover sensations Architects. Tickets go on sale May 15.
