Between The Buried And Me will be releasing a new 30 minute EP due out in April titled “The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues“. The EP is expected to be the first of a two part series. The track listing is as follows:
01 – Specular Reflection
02 – Augment Of Rebirth
03 – Lunar Wilderness
Listed to a sample of “Specular Reflection“:
“The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues” will introduce two human characters who live in different planes of existence, separated by millions of light years. We find that each is confronted with similar personal issues that they need to reckon with. Both characters make decisions that will change their lives, and perhaps the course of the universe, forever.
Musically, it sounds like Between The Buried And Me. The record has elements of aggression, beauty, quirkiness, and pure cacophony. For “Part 1″, we establish several themes which I’m sure will be revisited in the lengthier “Part 2″, which is something we really look forward to. We love to expand on simple ideas and see where they take us.”

Dredg will be releasing their new album “Chuckles and Mr Squeezy” in April/May. Details and the cover art for the new album can be seen below:
“The alternative rock band dredg from San Francisco can note a constantly growing number of followers and lovers since they decided to play music together more than 15 years ago, in 1995.
As there have been several rumors on the Internet recently about the successor of THE PARIAH, THE PARROT, THE DELUSION we are now happy to announce that dredg are finally going to release their fifth studio album CHUCKLES AND MR. SQUEEZY in late April/early May in Europe (outside of G/S/A) and on May 3, 2011 the U.S. Those who are expecting the record to be a consistent continuance of THE PARIAH, THE PARROT, THE DELUSION will no doubt be surprised: this album is completely different from everything dredg have ever done before.
It took the band members almost eight months of exchanging song-material via e-mail to finish the album–a process producer Dan The Automator (Gorillaz, Kasabian, etc.) was also involved in right from the early beginnings. His influence becomes most apparent in the songs “The Tent,” “Sun Goes Down” and “Before it Began” where he also took an active part in the songwriting.
Even though there is a lot of variation in tones and tempo, singer Gavin sums up the general sound of CHUCKLES AND MR. SQUEEZY as “Dark Pop”: a dark undertone is giving the songs some kind of a contemplative self-analysis – but in the end the album is still characterized by its optimism. “There is a certain darkness to it,” Gavin agrees. “A lot of our music is ultimately positive but can be conceived as sad as well. It has these two sides that oppose each other, but manage to reconcile in the music.”
With CHUCKLES AND MR. SQUEEZY dredg is breaking new grounds in their career – in a new, yet unexplored direction. The influence Dan The Automator had on this record is obvious. His status as a producer and co-worker lead him to an additional role as a guide, giving the band the impulse to work harder, to take a closer look at themselves and finally take this as an inspiration for creating their music and lyrics.
The last 15 years of development brought dredg to an unexpected, yet welcomed point in their career. “For me this is a renewal kind of record,” Gavin says. “It feels different and in some ways it feels like a new band. That was my goal when working with the band and with Dan–to make something we’d never done. Hopefully people can see the band in a new light. We can mold to different things and there is a future for the band when it comes to creating.”
Tour dates for 2011 will be announced soon.”

“I think the name of the tour says it all” says Parkway Drive vocalist Winston McCall.
“When we first started going to shows we we’re stoked to be able to see a bunch of bands that we liked, but also that may not sound exactly the same. These days it seems every tour has become so stream lined to one particular sound you may as well be watching the same band play four or five times in a row“.
“This tour has a bit of everything for anyone who like’s their music a little faster, a little more energetic, something local, something punk, something heavy, something rock, and then us hahaha. It’s everything we love, and we couldn’t be more siked”
You Me At Six frontman Josh Franceschi commented “We’re really happy to announce that we’ll be hitting Australia with our boys in Parkway Drive. The shows are going to be HUUUGGGEEE, so if you like either of our bands head down. Ripper!”

It encompasses tours from around the world, including Europe, the UK, Indonesia, Japan, America as well as footage from their home country of Australia.” Check out the trailer below:
Slayer guitarist and founding member Jeff Hanneman has been forced to pull out of the Soundwave Festival after being hospitalized late last month where he underwent emergency surgery on his right arm after contracting a serious infection.
While Hanneman’s doctors were not able to definitively identify the infection’s origin, they diagnosed ‘necrotizing fasciitis’, and indicated it likely was rooted in a spider bite. The guitarist is now recuperating at home, has already begun the process of subsequent medical procedures including skin grafts, and is expected to make a full recovery.
Slayer will bring on a guest guitarist to fill in for Hanneman until such time as he has fully recuperated and is ready to return to the lineup. The band will announce details about the guest guitarist shortly.
“Jeff is our brother, we’ve all been friends and together as a band for almost 30 years,” said Araya, “so we just want him to completely recover as soon as possible.”
“After everything that happened last year,” King added, “we all agreed that we just can’t let our fans down again,” referring to Araya’s severe back and neck pain that prompted his January 2010 surgery, unfortunately leading to the band’s postponement or cancellation of numerous shows in 2009 and 2010. “Jeff is totally on board with this decision, so we will tour as planned. At this point, we can’t pinpoint exactly what day he’ll be back, but he’ll be back as soon as he possibly can. And we can’t wait for Jeff to get better and get his ass back on the road.”
