Roadrunner Records president Jonas Nachsin has stepped down after 20 years. This along with many other job cuts and the shut down of all international offices has seen the once iconic label being over run by Warner Music, which bought out the label back in 2010. Nachsin had the following to say regarding his departure:
“I am so proud of what we have accomplished to showcase Roadrunner as not only a ‘record company’ but as a lifestyle and cultural beacon for fans around the globe. The chemistry of ground breaking artists worked by a world-class group of truly committed employees has made Roadrunner a name with no equal over the years. That will continue. The great team here much success as they move forward into a new chapter for Roadrunner.
Immediately following Nachsin’s statement was released, Atlantic Records, who also fall under the Warner Music label, had the following to say:
“For two decades, Jonas has been a passionate champion of Roadrunner’s incredible roster of artists and helped forge the unique identity of one of the world’s great labels. Everyone who has worked with Jonas — including artists, managers, the Roadrunner team and the wider Warner Music family — have all been touched by his commitment and leadership. He has been instrumental in the careers of so many extraordinary artists, from superstars including Nickelback and Slipknot to breaking talents Young the Giant and Stone Sour. We will all miss Jonas and wish him the best in his next endeavour.”

Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus has recently revealed that the band are hoping to release a 5-track EP set for release on December 18th. He has had the following to say to MTV on the matter:
“The EP will be something fun and funny for the holidays. But the music is the most important thing by far, and we are truly excited for people to hear new music.
This kind of agility is exactly what we were looking for, post-label. We have ideas for songs, we get into a studio and put the ideas together, grind hard, chase that paper, and weeks later we release the songs on our own. I spent last week in the studio with Travis and Tom. It was great, ideas falling everywhere. Lots of long hours spent on five new songs. The band is in a great place creatively. Having everyone in the same room at the same time makes all the difference for us.”
The Bronx have released a new track titled “Ribcage”. The song will be available on the band’s upcoming self titled release which will be out in February 2013. Check out the track below:
Glass Cloud have been involved in a van accident on their current tour of the USA. The band have released the following statement regarding the accident as well as video and photos. Check it all out below:
“This Is A Message To The Royal Thousand:
To say we’ve had a rough couple of days would be a massive understatement. Yesterday morning (11-11-12) at 7am, your boys in Glass Cloud took a heavy blow. While driving through Deadman’s Pass on the Oregon Trail, we started to drift on a patch of ice and lost traction while trying to regain control. Our van completely turned around 180 degrees and as we were drifting backward, our wheel clipped a rock and flipped our van and trailer onto the drivers side.
The crash shattered all the windows on that side leaving us all laying in broken glass. It also partially caved in the roof, shattered the windshield, and caved in the entire sheet metal siding on the drivers side. Our trailer has a twisted frame and tongue, bent up wheels, the back gate is pinched shut, the roof is pushed out and everything BUT our equipment is pretty much unsalvageable (thank god for flight cases on our instruments).
Our drummer, Chad, was driving with our tour manager Eric in the passenger seat and Myself (Travis), Josh, Jerry and our merch girl Jess in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th row respectively. When we gained our bearings and realized that we were all still able to move, we helped each other climb out through the front windshield and into the snowy Oregon moutainside. We gathered what little of our belongings we could from the wreckage and got a ride from a tow truck to the town of Pendleton located 20 miles from the crash.
As of now, I am writing this from my phone in an Econolodge trying to figure out what we need to do to get back on the road, meet up with our good friends on The AP Tour and continue playing our music across the country for the last two weeks of shows.
In this video you can find out exactly how to help us in this time and get us back on the road to finish this tour and make it home safely. When we get home, the real troubles will begin with finding transportation for our gear and a replacement for our van and trailer. We appreciate any help we can get from anybody during this hellacious time we are going trough and we hope everyone else stays safe and careful during these winter months.
