A press release has become avaialble regarding Metallica‘s forthcoming 3D movie which they shot live footage for in Vancouver, BC last year. The film will be titled “Metallica Through The Never” and is due to open in theaters on August 09th.
“Metallica Through The Never a feature film starring members of the iconic rock band and Dane DeHaan (Chronicle, The Amazing Spider-Man 2). DeHaan plays a young band crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while the band is playing a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down. The film, written and directed by Nimród Antal(Kontroll, Predators), is due in theaters August 9. One of the bestselling rock acts of all time, Metallica has sold over 105 million albums worldwide.”
Drummer Lars Ulrich had the following to say:
“Metallica‘s way of doing things is to jump into unexplored creative endeavours with no safety net whatsoever. Putting this movie together for the last couple of years has been a pretty wild ride, and we’ve definitely done our share of flying without a net!”

Bring Me The Horizon have released an official press release and new video for their upcoming release “Sempiternal”. The album is set for an April 30 release. Check it all out below:
“Already being herald as one of the most anticipated albums of the year, BRING ME THE HORIZON’s upcoming fourth studio album, SEMPITERNAL will be the defining sound of heavy music in 2013 and it is scheduled for release on April 30th via Epitaph Records.
Proving to be perpetual favorites among fans, the album’s first single “Shadow Moses” came charging out of the gates last week after premiering on Zane Lowe’s BBC’s Radio 1, forcing Epitaph to post the song on YouTube a week in advance due to popular demand.
“There’s a very euphoric sound coursing through the album, a very uplifting but yet sad sound,” says front-man Oliver Sykes. “Electronically, it’s far more advanced than anything we’ve done before.”
The five piece, consisting of Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matt Kean, Matt Nicholls andJordan Fish, recorded Sempiternal over a three month period with super producerTerry Date (Linkin Park, Deftones, Soundgarden). The band also brought in David Bendeth (A Day To Remember, Paramore) to add to the all-star production line-up and mix the album.
“Writing Sempiternal was a completely different process,” comments Sykes. “We worked from a computer, laying down ideas and riffs and working on them tirelessly until we had what we wanted.” For the first time, Sempiternal sees a new member appearing on the record, Jordan Fish, who takes on keyboard duties on the record as well as during live performances. “Bringing Jordan into the mix changed things completely; he opened up so many more possibilities.”
Sykes goes on to say, “The lyrical theme is everything. My head was a lot clearer when writing this time and it allowed me to write from a different perspective. It’s the best stuff I’ve ever written in my opinion. It’s very dramatic, quite blunt, and at times sarcastic, but the biggest part of it – is how it is combined with the music to bring the listener vivid imagery and emotion. I think we really managed to pull that off.”
Sempiternal is an embracing ride through soaring vocals, supercharged melodies and what can only be described as spine tingling metal anthems. After the critical and commercial success of their previous albums, There Is A Hell, Believe Me I’ve Seen It. There Is A Heaven, Let’s Keep It A Secret (2010) and their breakout success Suicide Season (2008), BMTH plan to take heavy music to the next level, incorporating the most dynamic elements of hard music to create the most exhilarating album of the year.”
Funeral For A Friend have released a video containing an audio preview of their upcoming release “Conduit”. The album should see a February 05 release. Check out the video below:
This Is Hell have released a new track titled “The Enforcer”. this will be the title track from the band’s upcoming release “The Enforcer” which the band have set a February 19 release date. The album will be made available both digitally and as a limited edition 7″ (300 red, 200 clear). The track listing, track, and comment from the band can be seen below:
01 – “The Enforcer“
02 – “Walking Abominations“
03 – “Flag Of The Serpent“
04 – “Whiplash” (Metallica cover) (vinyl only)
“We continuously evolve as a band and The Enforcer is just another step in that evolution. These songs push the boundaries of what we’ve done before just as Black Mass did and Weight of the World before that. The riffing is on a level we haven’t been to yet, and this is just the beginning for us.
“Every record we do is different from the last. The Enforcer has different vocal approaches, different songwriting structures, guitar techniques, etc. Threw in a Metallica cover for good measure–who doesn’t wanna wind up with a bit of ‘Whiplash’ after a gig?”

UPDATE:Alternative Press has just confirmed with a representative of the band that Jona is no longer in Bring Me The Horizon. They also confirmed that his Tumblr post that is being cited was, indeed, a joke that was unearthed and has nothing to do with his departure.
New member Jordan Fish confirms via Twitter there is no replacement as yet for Jona.
Bring Me The Horizon guitarist Jona Weinhofen has left the band. It is thought that he will be returning to Australia to focus more on I Killed The Prom Queen. The group has left a rather short comment regarding the split (source unknown):
“Bring Me The Horizon are Oliver Sykes, Lee Malia, Matthew Kean, Matthew Nicholls and Jordan Fish. Jona Weinhofen is no longer in the band.”
Weinhofen commented on his departure (over a year ago but is being reported as an April Fools joke) giving the following information:
“After a lot of time and thought ive decided to leave my current position as guitarist with Bring Me The Horizon. things in the band have been very tense with a lot of disagreements between myself and certain members who i wont name. I’m thankful for my time with BMTH and i have met many good friends and been able to travel the world more. I’m planning on moving back to Australia to pursue other musical ventures. thanks
