Norma Jean front man Cory Brandan has recently commented on the band’s upcoming album which is set for a June release. Check out what he had to say below:
“We had a lot of fun writing this record. We moved our space to a secluded area and wrote off and on for about two years. We really pushed ourselves to do something really different while expanding on what we’ve done in the past.
We also slapped some old school classic Norma Jean nastiness on it. We really struggled between wanting to have the fastest songs we’ve ever written to having the most groove driven songs, so the record is about half and half. We originally thought we would have been in and out of the studio by February 2012.
We set the bar really high and once that time came around we discovered that the record wasn’t ready. We felt it was best to push it back and make sure we didn’t put out something that we were going to be less satisfied with. We experimented with strings, piano, organ, percussion and tons of live tracks that all will be present on this record”.

“Words can’t describe the feelings right now as we begin to present this album to you today. There are a million different things we’d probably like to say, to one another and to all of you, but pages couldn’t contain. So here you go. To everyone that’s been on this ride for a while, thank you, and to everyone just getting onboard, welcome. We’re grateful for the ability to express ourselves artistically, to be able to release a piece of our souls through music and words, and we’re proud that any of you can relate to our expression or get something out of it in any way…that our band and what we do means anything at all to you.

Motionless In White have parted ways with their drummer Angelo Parente. Parente had the following statement on the matter:
“To my friends, family, and all the amazing Motionless In White fans, this is very hard to say, and I’m sure it will hit me harder soon, but I will no longer be in the band. This decision did not just all of sudden happen. After doing this since I was 17, the non-stop touring, and everything else that comes with the life of a musician, has finally caught up with me. It has affected me mentally and physically and it’s to a point where the best thing for the rest of the band and myself would be for me to call it quits.
Please know that the band and I are on good terms, best of friends and I love them all very much. No matter what, I would not give up what I have been through and experienced with the band. It has been the best years of my life. I got to travel the world with my best friends almost every day. I have met so many great people along the way and made many friends I will never forget. I will miss you all.
Not seeing the guys in the band will be tough to get use to, but I wish them the best of luck. Motionless In White has so much in store for you all, so please continue to support them to the fullest. I’m not sure what’s in store for my future, but right now I need to be home and breathe. Get myself together and figure it out. Please make sure to stay in touch. You know where to find me online and its a lot of fun sharing what I do with everyone throughout my life.
Whether it’s my art, food, dog, clothing designs, etc., you guys give your opinion and I’m grateful to have that. I am truly sorry to all that I have let down. Thanks for the constant support you have given me over the years, I will never forget it.
–Angelo”
The band had the following to say:
“We hope that he will find the relief he is searching for and that this is nothing but a positive move on his part. We are extremely sad to see him go, but we fully support and understand his decision to do what’s best for him. We are and will remain on good terms with him and really hope that all of our amazing fans will support him in whatever he chooses to do from this point on. He has been a part of our band and our family since its conception and this will take some adjusting for everyone, but as always, we appreciate all the ongoing support.
**YES WE WILL BE PLAYING ALL SCHEDULED TOUR AND SHOW DATES. NOTHING HAS BEEN CANCELLED.**
Thank you for reading and letting Angelo know he will be missed. We love you Ange, thank you for joining us during what will be looked back on as some of the best years of our lives.
