Napalm Death and Heaven Shall Burn have announced they ill releasing a new 7″ titled “The Mission Creep” on December 11th through Century Media with pre-orders found at this location.
The vinyl only release will see two previously unreleased songs from the bands. Napalm Death will release “An Extract (Strip It Clean)”, while Heaven Shall Burn will release “Battle Of Attrition”.
Napalm Death frontman Mark “Barney” Greenway commented:
“Split recordings are a great opportunity to explore something a little different, and with the voice that Heaven Shall Burn have out there in the world, we thought it was a nice route down which to spread our own tentacles of music and ideas. The convergence of ideas between our two bands on the design side of the EP was quite seamless, so as good a meeting of minds as there should be.”
Heaven Shall Burn on the other hand offered the following collective statement:
“It is a huge honour for us to be releasing this split 7″ EP. It not only is the first 7” inHeaven Shall Burn‘s career, but also shared with a band that has been an influence on all levels of our band’s development. Napalm Death have been a constant inspiration and will always remain innovators. We are as happy as young kids, again! Our song “Battle Of Attrition” deals with the happenings on the battlegrounds of Flanders from more than a 100 years ago and the unfortunately repeating tragedies for all Nations, which are misled into devastating war scenarios.”
Deftones have announced they have finished the mixing process for their next release.
Band frontman Chino Moreno said of the album:
“Well yesterday (November 07th) we actually finished the last mix—or at least approved the last mix—so now it’s just time to sequence the songs and master them and we should be done. So aside from artwork still is something that we’re working on, but we’re making progress with that. Album title close, but not all the way there yet, and song titles as well. But that’s usually the stuff that’s the sort of the last stuff to come together. But as far as the music, it’s done, it’s sounding good and we’re excited about it.”
“I can’t really compare it to our last couple records. I mean those two records were done in a very similar manner where we locked ourselves in a room for a short period of time and wrote and recorded it. Therefore I feel like we sort of really captured this moment in time and the record sort of sounds cohesive because of that.
This record was done sort of over a year, spread out over these little tiny writing sections. So it sounds a bit more fragmented, but in a good way. I feel like you put on one song and it’s completely different from the song after it, or previous to it. It’s not like we had this one main idea and we went in and we sort of went with that vibe, I mean the vibe’s sort of all over the place.
Like any Deftones record, I mean its got dynamics and there’s loud aggressiveness and there’s mellowness to it, but it’s all sort of got an ebb and flow to it. I dunno, it’d be hard for me to put it in words exactly what it sounds like. It’s definitely a Deftones record. The way I look at it is, it’s a gradual step from where we last were.”

The song comes from the bands “Space” EP.
Fleshgod Apocalypse have released the cover art for their upcoming album “King” which is currently set for release in early 2016 through Nuclear Blast. The artwork was done by Eliran Kantor (Hatebreed, Testament).
The band offered the following statement:
“This work of art is nothing more than the picture of an old world coming to an end.The author, Eliran Kantor, perfectly interpreted the concept behind the album. The King represents the last stand of integrity and justice in a court infested by traitors, villains, perverts, parasites and prostitutes. In an era that looks more like the Middle Ages than the 21st Century, we felt the necessity to express our indignation for the constant loss of values and our despise for mediocrity and commercial use of superstitions.
The question is, are we sure everything that is ‘new’ is right? Are we sure we are not losing the perception of what is the real value of things? Perhaps the essence of that King lies inside everyone of us but it’s just dimmed by the mist of deceit and (ir)rational superfluity. Perhaps we should all hail the King we have inside.”
