As I Lay Dying front man Tim Lambesis was arrested earlier this week for allegedly attempting to have his estranged wife murdered.
“Tim Lambesis, lead singer and co-founder for the heavy metal band, “As I Lay Dying” was arrested without incident today, May 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in a retail business on Vista Way in Oceanside. Lambesis is charged with Solicitation of Another to Commit Murder.Information came to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department on May 2nd that Lambesis was soliciting another individual to kill his estranged wife, who resides in Encinitas. The Encinitas Detectives, The San Diego Fugitive Task Force and the Sheriff’s Special Investigation Division investigators immediately initiated an investigation. The investigation culminated this afternoon, when Lambesis solicited an undercover detective to kill his wife. He was then arrested, transported to the Encinitas Station, and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.
The prosecutor was originally aiming to have Lambesis‘ bail set at $20 million, though it has since been set at $3 million. Video from the arraignment which took place on May 09 can be seen below:
Lambesis’ lawyer Anthony Salerno has recently been interviewed and given some insights into the case.
“I would anticipate myself asking for quite a bit of additional discovery, particularly on this person I strongly suspect is a snitch and is an informant for the police and was really creating this whole scenario and sort of setting Tim up. I believe there’s a good probability he may be a police informant. And that information is only available internally with the police department, or in this case the San Diego Sheriff’s Department, and through the D.A.’s office, and that’s something I’m gonna have to explore as well.”
“There’s one other element to this, too, which is… I don’t want to start to make accusations on this one unless I have some more information, but I will point out that Tim‘s wife’s brother, I understand, is a San Diego Sheriff’s deputy, and I think I would be remiss if I didn’t fully explore that, ’cause that is a little bit… it’s at the bare minimum very coincidental, and it may be more than that.”
Deftones front man Chino Moreno has made claim that the bands unreleased 2008 album “Eros” is closer to be released. The band put the album on hold a number of months after the recording sessions began when their then bassist Chi Cheng was seriously injured in a car accident.
“It will, I think more so now probably than ever. I actually went back and listened to some of it recently and… you know, I don’t know, when or, you know… but I feel it’s a little more appropriate now for us to think about that as to, you know, in the last few years to think about.”
Children Of Bodom have released a teaser for their upcoming video for the track “Transference”. The video is set to be released tomorrow. The bands upcoming album “Halo Of Blood” is set for a June 11 release. Check out the video below:
It has been confirmed that the cause of death of Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman was alcohol related cirrhosis of the liver.
“We’ve just learned that the official cause of Jeff‘s death was alcohol related cirrhosis. While he had his health struggles over the years, including the recent necrotizing fasciitis infection that devastated his well-being, Jeff and those close to him were not aware of the true extent of his liver condition until the last days of his life. Contrary to some reports, Jeff was not on a transplant list at the time of his passing, or at any time prior to that. In fact, by all accounts, it appeared that he had been improving – he was excited and looking forward to working on a new record.”
