Soundwave 2009 just keeps getting better! The official update from www.soundwavefestival.com:
To celebrate the extension in operating time we have added a couple of surprise additions exclusive to Soundwave Sydney.
Operating like two halves of the one brain, Two Tongues is the brilliant new project featuring Max Bemis and Coby Linder of Say Anything along with Chris Conley and David Soloway of Saves The Day.
With so many acts and punters attending we needed a band of super hero proportions to watch over and protect. “When there’s villains in your town, when there’s hatred all around. Violence in your area, mass hysteria, when we arrive we’ll be bringing it down”… introducing…International Superheroes Of Hardcore (suspiciously looking like members of New Found Glory).
We have not forgotten about the rest of the country either so to celebrate the imminent sell out of Soundwave in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne we can announce even more acts.
After long deliberation on who would be the perfect masters of ceremony at Soundwave we came up with no other than Welsh nutters Dirty Sanchez and those Finnish maniacs The Dudesons. After being notified by their insurance company that that their personal and health insurance policy will not be renewed due to the highly dangerous nature of their new show “which represents an unacceptable level of risk”, Dirty Sanchez and The Dudesons, the world’s 2 most acclaimed groups of daredevils and miscreants, have dutifully ignored the warnings and will be bringing degradation and hilarity to the Soundwave stages like no other.
Finally, from one of the all time great pop punk bands, Mike Herrera will be performing acoustic songs from MXPX and his side project Tumbledown.
As always, there is also plenty to offer the fans of punk, metal and the heavier end of the alternative spectrum, as well as signing tents giving artists the opportunity to meet fans, market stalls and the odd bit of crappy installation art for you to laugh at.
