Lostprophets’ Ian Watkins Appears In Court + Issues Statement

Lostprophets front man Ian Watkins has appeared in court on June 03 via video link in regards to his arrest in December 2012.

Watkins has denied 24 sexual offences, which include two counts of raping one child (allegedly around the age of one years old) in April 2012 and conspiring to rape and to sexually assault another between between August and October of the same year. He is denying the sexual assault of the first child and the aiding and abetting an assault by penetration of the second child. He furthermore plead not guilty to the possession of child pornography between January and December of 2012, as well as possession of images of bestiality.

A number of similar charges were also denied by the two unidentified females who were also accused in the case.

All three will remain in custody and will once again appear in court this Thursday, June 06, for a case management hearing with a trial date expected to be set soon after.

A statement made by Watkins was read by his representatives and read as follows:

“I want to thank my family, friends and all the fans for their continued support throughout this whole ordeal. Your support gives me strength, I deny all the allegations made against me and will continue to fight to the end to clear my name.”
