The last original member of influential punk band Ramones, Tommy Ramone, has passed away (July 11) after his fight with bile duct cancer. The announcement was made yesterday via this location.
“It wasn’t just music in The Ramones: it was an idea. It was bringing back a whole feel that was missing in rock music – it was a whole push outwards to say something new and different. Originally it was just an artistic type of thing; finally I felt it was something that was good enough for everybody.”

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has revealed details regarding his upcoming autobiography. The effort will be titled “I’m The Man: The Story Of That Guy From Anthrax” and will be released on October 14. Check out the official product listing below along with the cover:
“The long–awaited and vastly entertaining autobiography of Scott Ian, a founding member of legendary, groundbreaking, and influential thrash–metal band Anthrax.
In this fast–paced, humorous, and revealing memoir from guitarist Scott Ian—the leader of a band that proved brutality and fun don’t have to be mutually exclusive—Ian tells his life story, starting with his upbringing as a nerdy Jewish boy in Queens who had his first musical epiphany when he saw The Who on television. Not long after that, he saw KISS at Madison Square Garden and realized what he wanted to do with his life.
I’m the Man covers Ian’s dysfunctional home life and his escape through the turbulent world of heavy metal. It also chronicles the complete history of Anthrax, from the band’s formation to their triumphant performance at Ian’s beloved Yankee Stadium on the Big Four Tour with Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.”
Architects have revealed two headline tour dates with Stray From The Path and Hand Of Mercy while in the country supporting The Amity Affliction on their album launch tour.

Decapitated have released details regarding their upcoming album “Blood Mantra” which will be released on September 30. Band guitarist Waclaw ‘Vogg’ Kieltyka has had the following to say:
“Extreme and groove – I think that’s the best way to describe our new album. This time we feel that we have something totally crushing and huge. ‘Blood Mantra‘ is the most heavy and mature album we ever did in our career. I cannot wait to start to play songs live because riffs are so deep and powerful.”
