The Dillinger Escape Plan will not be releasing their new album on Relapse Records. The band have inked a new deal with Season Of Mist.
A statement from the band’s guitarist Ben Weinman reads: “We are off Relapse and will be doing things all kinds of ways now that we have 100% control of the business side of things. Trent (Reznor) has def been an inspiration on that front.”
Weinman goes on to talk about the Season Of Mist deal:
“It is becoming clear that as the music industry standard continues to morph and change on a daily basis, artistic and operational freedom has become a band’s most valuable asset. 100% free of all previous contractual ties, Dillinger is in an amazing position to collaborate with some interesting partners which will continue to nurture the ethic that we have been doing our best to stay true to for over 10 years now.”
“While touring Europe in support of our record ‘Ire Works’, I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Berberian, distributor and owner of the independent record label Season of Mist. It quickly became clear that we had very similar ideas about Dillinger’s music and its place in the underground. Season of Mist has always been a leader in releasing some of the most extreme and interesting metal and experimental music. We look forward to releasing our next full length effort in association with Season of Mist as the very first chapter of this new journey. Also, Michael’s last name almost spells out Barbarian which Greg was really excited about.”
Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato will also guest on the new album from Every Time I Die. The band will also be recording their brand new album this summer with Steve Evetts with a release expected in late 2009.

Metal As Fuck reports:
“Having CRADLE OF FILTH in the City Of Churches caused a lot of excitement, and they played a pretty good set. But Dani Filth walking off-stage in the middle of a track, thereby pretty much ending the show, was baffling, a little bit unprofessional, and a bad way to end a good night.”
