In a recent interview with Search & Destroy, vocalist Burton C Bell released some details on the upcoming album featuring himself, Dino Cazares (guitar), Byron Stroud (bass) and Gene Hoglan (drums). The band are still going through legal battles to use the name “Fear Factory“. They have set “Mechanized” as the title for the album and was co-produced by the band with Rhys Fulber and was recently mixed by Greg Reely. Regarding the musical direction Bell had following to say:
It has the raw aggression of what ‘Soul Of A New Machine’ was but it has… I would say it has the maturity of ‘Obsolete’. When I say ‘maturity,’ I mean that it has the songwriting skills that ‘Soul Of A New Machine’ did not have whereas ‘Obsolete’ did.

Alexisonfire recently conducted an interview with Metal Hammer to discuss their new EP “Dogsblood“, an excerpt from the interview:
“It’s called Dogsblood. It’ll be out in the new year. We’re probably going to press it onto ten inch, four songs, two songs per side.”
“Two really really heavy songs, two atmospheric songs. I’ve started working on some lyrics, we have an artist in mind. I think we’re going to try and do a few 7” releases as well around the same time.”

Slayer have released a trailer for their upcoming 20min feature film “Playing With Dolls“, the short film will be included on DVD with the deluxe edition of their upcoming album “World Painted Blood” due out November 3rd. Playing With Dolls is described as follows:
No mere music video, Playing with Dolls is a stark, 12-part nightmare that breathes corrupt life into Slayer’s latest syllabus of stalkers, psychopaths and serial killers, merging their aberrant psyches into the supremely focused desire of a single, merciless malcontent. He is not an indiscriminate murder junkie, but rather a highly creative snuff-artist with a deeply personal sense of purpose – a man for whom murder is the only conceivable way forward. With a black heart hardened by tragedy, he chooses his victims carefully. His methods are as grisly and varied as they are poetic.
