Former Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano has recently spoken about his decision to leave the band. Check it out below:
“That was a very tough decision to make and it’s also a tough question to answer. There are a number of reasons why I left the band. Some of them are very personal to me but I ultimately have no problem being open about these things.
If you were to ask me to give you the absolute main reason why I decided to leave Anthrax, I would tell you that I left because my heart simply wasn’t in it anymore. I had a blast playing with those guys and they will always be family to me, but outside of my guitar solos and production work, Anthrax was never a creative outlet for me (musically). That wasn’t by any choice of my own by the way; it’s just the way it is. But at the same time I was committed 100 percent to the band and the relentless touring schedule, etc.
It’s been a blast playing with those guys. I love them dearly and I wouldn’t change a thing about the last 12 years, but I guess it just got to the point where I started asking myself: “What the hell am I doing? I’m a musician; this is who I am. Being creative is simply food for my soul. Why am I devoting all of my time and energy into a band where being creative is impossible for me?”
It simply stopped making sense a while ago and I ended up feeling very unhappy and unfulfilled. It started feeling like I was just going through the motions and that’s not what music is about to me at all. As soon as I realized that my heart was not into it anymore, I knew I needed to make a major change in order to make things right for myself.”

Oceano have released a new track and lyric video titled “Slow Murder”. The song will be included on the band’s upcoming album “Incisions” which is set for release later this year. The band’s guitarist Nick Conser had the following to say regarding the track:
“The new Oceano comes out today. Get ready for it. We’re starting a new chapter in this band. We’re not selling out. We’re not getting soft. We’re getting more fucked up and bringing more hate. And if you want us to change, then you’re gonna be disappointed. We’re not gonna replicate any album that we’ve ever released. We’re going to get more evil than anything you’ve heard from this band. Today will show the start of how hateful this record is gonna be.”
In Hearts Wake have made avaialble behind the scenes footage from their upcoming video for the track “Loreley (The Lovers)”. The video is set to premier on February 01. Check it out below:
Aussie metallers Thy Art Is Murder have announced that they have signed to the world renowned Nuclear Blast Entertainment. The head of Nuclear Blast, Mike Monte, had the following to say about the decision to sign the band:
“I didn’t find Thy Art Is Murder, they found me! After getting multiple calls and emails from various industry contacts telling me ‘you gotta hear this band!’ and seeing the online buzz at iTunes here in the U.S., it was very clear to me that something very real and organic was happening; this band was reacting massively all on their own,”Connor explains.
“I am proud to welcome Thy Art Is Murder as one of my first signings to Nuclear Blast Entertainment. I’ve signed some heavy bands over the years, but Thy Art Is Murder is sheer brutality of the highest and most extreme degree.”
Thy Art Is Murder guitarist Andy Marsh has had the folowwing to say:
“Nuclear Blast has always represented the pinnacle of extreme metal, a last bastion in an ever evolving industry. To say we now share a label with the greatest extreme metal bands of all time is ridiculous. It was never a dream, it was impossible. But we’ve done it. The future will be heavy.”
