Darkest Hour have recently penned a new deal with Sumerian Records for the release of their next album. The new album will con incide with the re release of the bands past album “The Mark Of The Judas”.
The band have had the following to say regarding the signing:
“To say that Sumerian Records and label owner Ash Avildsen are big supporters of this band would be a huge understatement. We have been proud to call Ash our friend since our early years and this friendship has flourished greatly since then via our relationship with his sister company, The Pantheon Booking Agency.
When you start a band you dream that one day you can do what you love with great friends and family around you. Now it all seems to have come full circle. With the good people at Outerloop Management, Sumerian Records and the Pantheon Agency we finally feel right at home. Every aspect of the group is being handled by long-time trusted friends and is in reliable hands. This safe haven has given us the shelter we need to put together a life-changing new album.
Before we could see it coming, we’ve been thrust out of Oceanic Studios (where we’ve been working with producer Taylor Larson) and back out on the road. Please come see us live with Killswitch Engage if we’re coming to your city and it will also be our first tour with new drummer Travis Orbin. As soon as we get home we’ll be back to the hermit life in the studio where we can finish up this album. To our brother Ash, Sumerian and all of you out there here’s a huge cheers to 2014, a new Darkest Hour album and the future.”
Sumerian Records founder Ash Avildsen has also released a statement:
“Darkest Hour are some of the best dudes I have ever met in music. They’re also one of the most underrated bands in metal and Sumerian is here to change that. Their influential début album, The Mark Of The Judas, which never saw the real light of day due to their label at the time going under the day it came out, will finally get a proper release this fall, along with a new studio record. DC pride.”
Oh, Sleeper will be releasing two new crowd funded EP’s after successfully raising over $50,000. The band have issued the following statement regarding the releases.
“We have been at breakneck speed since the triumphant end of the campaign and just want to say THANK YOU for your tremendous support!
Because of this amazing support we are extremely proud to announce that we WILL be reserving enough funds raised over our goal to schedule time after Warped Tour to hit the studio to make a SECOND EP! We aren’t sure of the date because it will have to fit in when our touring schedule permits, but we will definitely be recording another EP.
We have wrapped up in the studio and are in the final stages of preparing the release ofThe Titan EP (and now en route to Warped Tour!). We are beyond thrilled with how these songs have turned out and extremely grateful for the tremendous effort our producer, Andreas Magnusson, has put into helping us rush this out. Our sound has evolved and we absolutely cannot wait to hear your response.
We will release a single, “THE PITCH,” ASAP.
We are getting all of the merchandise and everything else into production for all of the awesome funders. We’ve never been in charge of doing ALL of this before haha, but it’s an exciting challenge. Look for more updates!
Due to the insane rush that we’ve been experiencing in this time crunch, we haven’t had a lot of time to make updates about the process, but we thank you so much for your patience. Stay tuned, The Titan EP is coming soon!
And of course TITAN will be available to everyone soon!”

Melbourne heavy band House Vs Hurricane have decided to call it a day after nearly 7 years together. Check out what they had to say regarding the split.
“After nearly 7 years as a band we, House Vs Hurricane have decided it’s time for us to move on and call it day.
The five if us could have never imagined the amount of support we have received since our beginnings from our fans, friends, families, past members and and the amazing team that has been behind us the entire way.
We see this as an exciting step more than anything else, of course it’s sad but we have been given the opportunity to travel the world, record music, meet so many amazing people and share what we do with anyone who will listen, and for that we are so so grateful and humbled.
We have an Australian tour coming up later this month with I Killed The Prom Queen and Buried In Verona, as well as River Sessions festival in Mackay. These will be our last shows for the moment, but we may look to do something later on as a final farewell. For now, please come and see us on tour June 20-29 and lets have a blast.
Of course we will all continue to play music in some capacity so keep an eye out for that in the future but for now it is goodbye.
We have put up a couple of tracks for free that are B-Sides from Crooked Teeth as a parting gift to our awesome fans and supporters. Stay tuned for those shortly, we hope you enjoy them
Lovers, haters, people that don’t care, thanks for being a part of the journey, it’s been real!
Ryan, Dan, Chris, Dylan and Sam.”
