Ian Watkins (Lostprophets) Placed On Suicide Watch
14th August 2013According to a report released at this location, Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins has been placed on suicide watch while awaiting trial, up to five times per hour.
Watkins stands accused of two counts of rape of a child (allegedly around the age of one years old) in April 2012 and conspiring to rape/sexually assault another child between August and October of the same year. He also stands accused of possession of bestiality. Thus far he has denied all charges.
Watkins‘ attorney Sally O’Neill argued that he should be transferred out of HM Parc Prison, where he is currently being held, to a psychiatric facility. O’Neill is quoted as saying:
“He has been seen by a clinical psychologist and she believes he should be receiving anti-psychotic medication… She wants him to be taken to a secure hospital for assessment and treatment.”
Two unnamed women who have also been charged appeared in court today. One of the women, who is 24 years old, continues to deny all charges; while the other, who is aged 20, has apparently now admitted to sexually touching a child and taking and distributing images of it.
All three will remain in custody with their hearing adjourned until October 14.
