Circa Survive have revealed they have signed a new worldwide deal with Sumerian Records. The first release through the label will be in the form of the bands deluxe reissue of the most recent album “Violent Waves” which will be released on September 09.
Band vocalist Anthony Green has had the following to say:
“We are so happy to be a part of the Sumerian family. To be able to have the same creative freedom as we did on our own plus the benefits of having their team helping us spread our music and message is a dream scenario.”
Sumerian Records‘ Ash Avildsen mentioned:
“Today is one of the happiest and fulfilling days of my career and I think I speak for our entire staff when sharing that sentiment. Having Circa Survive join the Sumerian family is a dream come true. Their passion and approach of artistic transcendence as a band is exactly what we continue to strive for with Sumerian as a brand.
Their progressive, ethereal songwriting that conveys emotion in such a unique way has built them an incredible cult following while always staying true to themselves, which is the definition of musical success in my mind. Sumerian is honored to play a part in their career and vision. We hope to help them achieve even bigger goals while bringing their music to more new ears worldwide.”
In Flames have released a new video for their track “Through Oblivion”. The song comes from the bands upcoming album “Siren Charms” which will be released on September 09.
Haste The Day have reunited with members spanning their entire career and are planning to release a new album through this Indigogo campaign. Members include:
Vocals – Stephen Keech
Harsh Vocals – Jimmy Ryan
Guitars/Clean Vocals – Brennan Chaulk
Guitars – David Krysl
Guitars – Scott Whelan
Bass/Vocals – Mike Murphy
Drums – Giuseppe Capolupo
The band has had the following statement regarding the decision:
“In May of this year, we celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the release of our first studio album Burning Bridges. Needless to say, the experience brought a lot of memories back for all members of Haste the Day, past and present. After the gig, Stephen (vocals), Mark (long-time friend and manager) and I (Mike) started talking about what it would look like to put out another album. Needless to say, this was a complex decision making process, but something we all wanted to do.
As is the case with all things in life: if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing right! So we spent a lot of time determining the best way to make our 6th full-length studio album. Who would write, who would perform, how would we involve all members of the band in the project in one way or another?
You see, we are all friends & brothers and so we wanted to give all the guys an opportunity to participate in one way or another. At the same time, we want to make the best album we can, one that would thrill fans of all eras of Haste the Day.
So, here’s the scoop: Stephen, Jimmy, Brennan, Scotty, Mike, Giuseppe will be the core writers for the new album, which has yet to be named. Dave will be providing additional writing input as well as helping with guitars and guitar tone during the recording process. Stephen will be producing the album, which we will record in Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition, The Burning Bridges era of Haste the Day will also be writing and performing one song for the new album. For those of you not familiar with that album or the lineup that made it, Jimmy, Jason, Mike, Brennan, and Devin will be writing and recording the song for the album.
We have already begun writing the album and we will begin recording the album in January of 2015. Expect lots of video updates along the way. For all of our backers, expect to get glimpses of the new music as we demo the songs and prepare for the recording process.”

At The Gates have revealed they have completed their upcoming album “At War With Reality”. The band have also announced that the album will be released on October 28 through Century Media.
Band vocalist Tomas Lindberg had the following to say:
“We are very excited to finally have finished this new album. An album that we’ve been working on for over a year now. It’s by far the most challenging record that we have made, but it’s an honest album and I think that you will feel that it is faithful to the legacy of At The Gates. We have, through the process of creating it, been true to ourselves and our art. From hearing the first demos that Anders presented to the band last summer, through the extensive stages of songwriting, pre-production, rehearsals, recording and mixing, we now finally got the finished album in our hands. We are very happy to have managed to produce an album that we feel is truly ‘us’. Something we can all stand behind one hundred percent. I can’t wait ’til you all get to hear it!”
Machine Head have announced their new album “Bloodstone And Diamonds”. The effort was prodiced by band vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn alongside Juan Urteaga (Cattle Decapitation, Testament).
Flynn has mentioned the following regarding the album title:
“Without getting too philosophical on ya, bloodstone and diamonds represent two of the hardest materials on earth, it is also a lyric from the opening track of the album “Now We Die“. In many cultures the bloodstone has been used as an amulet to protect against evil, and is the symbol of justice. Diamonds are the hardest natural material on earth (which is how we feel about our music), and it also represents the diamond logo I drew 22 years ago (in my wife’s apartment on Dover St. in Oakland) that has become the symbol for the band.”
He went on further on the album itlsef:
“10 songs, an interlude, and an instrumental with an audio collage of spoken word snippets (think “Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies“) by Dr. Bruce Lipton and Steve Bhaerman, taken from their (incredibly inspiring) audiobook “Spontaneous Evolution“.
It was once again produced by your truly The General and Juan Urteaga, and like the last 7 out of 8 albums masterfully mixed by Colin Richardson. Additional tracking, editing, and mixing was done with heavy metal legend Andy Sneap and Steve Lagudi.
Guest musicians include 2 different string quartets featuring the original Quartet Rouge that appeared on our last album “Unto The Locust“. And a new all-male quartet which we featured on the song “In Comes The Flood“.
String arrangements for 2 of the songs “Now We Die” and “Sail Into The Black” came courtesy of myself and Rhys Fulber who has worked with everyone from Sarah McLachlan, to Fear Factory, and the string arrangement for “In Comes The Flood” came courtesy of myself and ex-Worship and current-Bring Me The Horizon keyboardist Jordan Fish, who is a producer in his own right.
We worked with several artists to complete the 28 page (!) “standard” CD booklet, as well as the 48 page (!) hardcover leather-bound Media-book that will serve as the special edition, including Rafal Wechterowicz, Marcelo Vasco, and long-time Machine Head art-collaborator Strephon Taylor. The theme was to have both CD and hardcover Mediabook look like an old Alchemy book from the 1800′s, with weathered edges, sepia toned pages, and magic / masonic / alchemy themed woodcarvings throughout.
It turned out fucking amazing!!
All album photos were done with our friend Travis Shinn who took some mind-bogglingly awesome photos, that again, were set to match the theme of the book with an old 1800′s / alchemy feel to them.”
