Chimaira‘s lead guitarist Emil Werstler has left the band. Check out his statement below:
“My time in Chimaira has, unfortunately, come to an end. It is time for me to move on as I continue to focus on harvesting my abilities as a musician. I’m very fond of everyone in the band and wish them all the best in the future.
Although this was a difficult choice to make, I feel it was necessary in order to take the next step in my career. The best is still yet to come and I’m very excited for the multiple projects I am working on. I would like to thank the band, management, and, most importantly, all the fans for the endless support and understanding.”
Haste the Day‘s Stephen Keech has released a statement regarding the bands crowdfunding effort that has reached almost $89,000 with 13 days left to go.
“Haste the Day Fans!!!
We are so blown away by your continual support of this project! You have spread the word and invested in this record with us, and we couldn’t be more grateful. I can’t believe it, but we just hit $85,000, which releases our next stretch goal. All the backers up to this point will receive a brand new, unreleased song from me!
I can’t wait to share it. But first I would like to touch on a little bit of htd history and one of the reasons this project is special. Way back in the early days of Haste the Day when everyone could eat whatever they wanted and stay skinny, the band released an EP on their own. Meaning, they saved up their allowances, started lemonade stands, and probably ate lots of Ramen noodles so they could make a record. After that, HTD signed to a label gracious enough to let them borrow money to record a full length record. Five albums later, we broke up while still paying off our debt through record sales.
This record is exciting because it is the first full length record that Haste the Day has done where it is funded up front. This campaign has been our lemonade stand. But instead of lemonade, we are selling vinyls, hoodies, t-shirts, cds, and more. Your support is helping us make the album we want to make. There will be no dollar waisted in this campaign. The more money that is made, the more we can do with this record.
Thank you all so much for being so supportive and inspirational to us. It is truly humbling.
God bless,
Stephen Keech“

Asking Alexandria have released a new video for their new single “Moving On”.
Shadows Fall have revealed they have made plans to put a hiatus on touring. The band have released the following statement:
“The band has been touring non-stop for over a decade and has decided that it’s time to “take a hiatus” from future extensive touring. In addition to this upcoming European run, Shadows Fall are planning a final North American tour and will possibly visit a few other territories some time over the next year. We will post details once everything is locked in. There are many factors that are behind this difficult decision that the band has been dealing with for some time now. In a nutshell it comes down to families, member availability, and finances.
Further impacting our decision is the fact that we have two members with young children. Plain and simple, they want to be with their families to watch their kids grow. Touring full time in a band these days has never been more difficult financially. When you have to ensure the future comfort of your family, difficult decisions have to be made. Another reason is the fact that our lead guitarist (Jon Donais) is now in Anthrax, which makes it hard for us to do any extensive touring with our full lineup.
Due to his obligations with Anthrax, he will not be able to join us on this European tour. Felipe Roa will once again fill Jon’s position and we are thankful to him for joining us on this run. Also returning for this tour is original bassist Paul Romanko who has sat out from touring for the last two years to raise his son. This has been a real hard decision for all of us to make but we feel at this time this is the right thing to do. We don’t hate each other, we’re not bitter, we in fact still have a really great time together, but the ride has slowed down and it’s time for the next chapters in our lives, whatever that may be.
We can’t thank the fans that have supported Shadows Fall since the beginning enough. Without you, none of this would have been possible. For the past decade and a half, we have been able to create the music we have always wanted to hear and share it with music fans everywhere. That being said, you still may see us at a festival or two over the next few years…if they ask, we will come! In the meantime please check out the dates for the last European go around and we will see you out there!”
For Today have released a new video for “Molotov” which comes from their latest release “Fight The Silence”.
