Iron Maiden have announced they will release their sixteenth studio double album “The Book Of Souls” on September 04. The band tracked the album in late 2014 with producer Kevin “The Caveman” Shirley (HIM, Dream Theater).
Dickinson himself commented:
“We’re really excited about The Book Of Souls and had a fantastic time creating it. We started working on the album in late summer 2014 and recorded it at Guillame Tell Studios in Paris, where we’d done the Brave New World album back in 2000 so the studio holds special memories for all of us. We were delighted to discover the same magical vibe is still alive and very much kicking there! So we immediately felt at home and the ideas just started flowing. By the time we’d finished we all agreed that each track was such an integral part of the whole body of work that if it needed to be a double album, then double its going to be!”
Bassist/vocalist Steve Harris further added:
“We approached this album in a different way to how we’ve recorded previously. A lot of the songs were actually written while we were there in the studio and we rehearsed and recorded them straight away while they were still fresh, and I think that immediacy really shows in the songs, they have almost a live feel to them I think. I’m very proud of The Book Of Souls, we all are, and we can’t wait for our fans to hear it, and especially to take it out on the road next year!”

Mastodon have released a new video for their track “Asleep In The Deep”.
“This concept was birthed out of my curiosity about what a cat really does at night while we are asleep. Where do they go? Cats have a very mysterious myth to them and I thought it would be cool to explore that, as little nocturnal heroes. I decided to put a sort of Joseph Campbell hero myth spin on it and add some Jodorowsky psychedelia as well. I’m more than excited about the way it came out! I love it!”
Memphis May Fire have released a new video for their track “Stay The Course”.
The song comes from the bands upcoming album “Unconditional” which is currently set for a July 17 release through Rise Records.
Pierce The Veil have released a new track titled “The Divine Zero”.
The track is the first to be released from the bands next album.
“This first single, “The Divine Zero,” goes out to all of our incredibly supportive fans out there who have been waiting for it! There is nothing more special to us than being able to share new music with all of you, and this is the very first glimpse into our upcoming album. We’re looking forward to playing this song live and singing along with all of you at the Vans Warped Tour this summer. See you at the shows!

“Arrogance, violence, world in disarray
Dealing with insanity every fuckin’ day
I hate the life, hate the fame, hate the fuckin’ scene
Pissing match of egos, fuck their vanity
Ain’t got the time, I don’t want anything from you
Feeding on my tolerance is all you fuckin’ do
No looking back, no regrets, no apologies
What you get is what you seeLive fast, on high
Repentless, let it rideMy songs relive the atrocities
Can’t take society any fuckin’ more
Intensity, anarchy, hatred amplified
Playing this shit is all that keeps me alive
I leave it all on the road living on the stage
This is my life where I kill it everyday
So take you shot, bottom’s up, this is no lie
I’ll be beating this guitar ’til the day I dieLive fast, on high
Repentless, let it rideI hate the life, hate the fame, hate fuckin’ scene
Pissing match of egos, fuck their vanity
Ain’t got the time, I don’t want anything from you
Feeding on my tolerance is all you fuckin’ do
No looking back, no regrets, no apologies
What you get is what you see
We’re all killing ourselves a little more everydayLive fast, on high
Repentless, let it ride”
