August Burns Red have offered an update on the recording of their new album. The band’s guitarist JB Brubaker said the following:
“Hey everyone, I wanted to update you on where we are currently at with the recording of our 5th full length album. We officially started tracking about a month ago and by the end of this week we will be completely finished with the tracking phase of the album.
Dustin wrapped up bass yesterday and Matt just put the finishing touches on his drums by sprinkling some overdubs (tambourine, shakers, conga, etc) over a bunch of songs. JB and Brent wrapped up all their guitars last week and Jake will be done recording vocals in a couple days.
What does all this mean? Well, we are nearly done with the hard work aspect of this album and can get into the mixing, which is the fun stuff. While nearly all the elements are in place, the levels of each instrument are all over the place.
We’ll be spending all of next week mixing the album and making sure it sounds awesome. After working on this intensely for the last few months, we are beyond excited to hear all the elements come together.
I’m terrible at describing our music so I’ll just say that this album is going to be a really fun listen with a lot of meat to sink your teeth into. We can’t wait for you to hear it!
Thanks for caring,
JB/ABR”

“Halo Of Blood is the 8th studio album from Children Of Bodom and believe it or not but we still managed to keep it fresh and new while still maintaining the elements that make COB sound recognizable. Its got the fastest and the slowest song we ever made and lyrics wise there are themes we had never had before. Its 10 new songs of pure nordic metal and wether you enjoy it with a beer or a glass of water, I’m sure you will have a good time.”
Norma Jean front man Cory Brandan has recently commented on the band’s upcoming album which is set for a June release. Check out what he had to say below:
“We had a lot of fun writing this record. We moved our space to a secluded area and wrote off and on for about two years. We really pushed ourselves to do something really different while expanding on what we’ve done in the past.
We also slapped some old school classic Norma Jean nastiness on it. We really struggled between wanting to have the fastest songs we’ve ever written to having the most groove driven songs, so the record is about half and half. We originally thought we would have been in and out of the studio by February 2012.
We set the bar really high and once that time came around we discovered that the record wasn’t ready. We felt it was best to push it back and make sure we didn’t put out something that we were going to be less satisfied with. We experimented with strings, piano, organ, percussion and tons of live tracks that all will be present on this record”.
