Push Over 2014 has been cancelled due to poor ticket sales and hard competition with other summer festivals. Instead there will now be a new free all-ages music stage at the Moomba Festival at Birrarung Marr, Melbourne on Monday March 10. For more information see www.thepush.com.au. Festival director Shane Wickens has released the following statement:
“We are disappointed to see ticket sales down on previous years, however we know we’re in the middle of a very tough summer music festival season. It’s now time to revamp the model for the future. We apologise to the artists who have made a commitment to Push Over and to the music fans who have purchased tickets. Refunds are available at the point of sale.”
Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott has recently discussed the bands progress with their upcoming release.
“We tracked drums at Fascination Street Studio, and we’ve been recording guitars and bass in another room. We’ll do the vocals in a third studio, and the mix and mastering will done by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street. It’s all going according to plan; it’s been running very smoothly. Vocals and few guitar solos left to do, and the mix, of course.”
“This album is actually very different from Khaos Legions. All of our albums have had their own vibe, and this one will be its own entity as well. Lyrically, it’s a much more personal record, and musically, I feel the songs have more dynamics and depth than ever before.
There’s certainly very heavy and aggressive metal taking place, but there’s also another level of melody that excites me. There’s a wide spectrum of variety in the material; they’re all unique to me and I’m excited about all of them at this point. A couple of the songs feature real strings, and it’ll be interesting how our fans will take to that. I am pretty sure they’ll love it!”
Volumes are the latest band to be added to the upcoming “Free Your Mind” fest which features Northlane and Make Them Suffer.

Animals As Leaders have confirmed their new album to be tilted “The Joy Of Motion” and will be released on March 25. Band guitarist Javier Reyes has had the following to say:
“I think some of the new tracks are some of AAL’s strongest and musical material yet and extremely happy with how the album came out. Everyone who took part with this album (Misha Mansoor (Periphery), Adam Getgood (Periphery), Diego Farias(Volumes), and Navene Koperweis) is extremely talented and I think we’ve done a great job of capturing it onto what is now the third Animals As Leaders album.”
