The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman has recently discussed the bands recent album sessions with Daniel P Carter on the BBC Radio 1‘s ‘Rock Show With Daniel P Carter‘.
“We got all the drums done—we did that in Long Island, NY. And then we came back to my studio—my guitar player, our other guitar play Kevin [Antreassian] and me have thisParty Smasher Studio setup in Jersey so we’re tracking the rest here. We’ve been doing it like late in the middle of night and stuff, like all secretive and stuff, it’s crazy.”
“I don’t know what it’s going to sound like, it may sound like a very different Dillingerrecord but I’m excited about it.”
He also mentioned:
“This one’s definitely… I mean it’s Dillinger, there’s always like a potpourri of textures that go on. It’s all over the spectrum. I haven’t even heard what Greg‘s doing on it yet. He’s out in California just working on it on his own. But musically it’s been written over a span of like two years. And I’d say there’s some wierder moments on it.
I feel like it’s a little bit more in the realm of the “Irony Is A Dead Scene” EP or maybe “Ire Works“. I think we’re probably going to release it in a more interesting way than we have in the past, we’re not sure, probably try to do it not too traditionally.”
Being As An Ocean have released a new video for their track “Dissolve”. The song/video release coincides with the bands announced they have inked a deal with Equal Vision Records.
The video was produced by band guitarist Tyler Ross and Capsize‘s Daniel Wand.
Being As An Ocean vocalist Joel Quartuccio commented on the bands signing:
“We are ecstatic to finally get the opportunity to work with the family at Equal Vision Records. Our relationship has been a long time in the making, and it is like a dream come true to be able to call ourselves part of the team. Ever since we met Dan Sandshaw, EVR’s president, we knew that the label’s ethos and passion for the music was akin to our own and that we didn’t want to settle for anything less. We are eternally grateful to EVR for sticking it out through the years with us to see this beautiful partnership to fruition.”
Quartuccio also spoke of “Dissolve”, which was recorded at Glow In The Dark Studios with producer Matt McCllellan(Capsize) :
“‘Dissolve has been about 3-4 months in the making, being written over one of our longest timelines, and we think it is one of our best yet. We, simply, have never had the time to make something this special before, and I think it really shows. Working with Matt McClellan, now for the third time, was a breeze. We click so well with him on a personal and musical level, we consider him a brother/family. Recording with him is always such a smooth and enjoyable experience, and I think that shines through, as well. It really aides the whole process, and I know it just wouldn’t be the same going to anyone else.”
Of Mice And Men have released the first of five videos in their new documentary series titled “The Full Circle Story”. You’ll need to signup for their new fanclub The Ampersand to view the series which is located on the ofmiceandmenofficial.com
Band vocalist/bassist Aaron Pauley says of the feature:
“‘The Full Circle Story‘ offers the viewer an incredibly unique perspective—our perspective. The 5-part series takes the viewer on a wild international journey through our past few years, as seen through our eyes. It also showcases some of our favorite moments since the release of Restoring Force, complete with live footage from shows played around the world and interviews from the band. With the help of our friend Jon Stone, ‘The Full Circle Story’ captures what it’s like to be in Of Mice & Men, and we can’t wait to share that experience with our fans in a way we never have before.”
The band have also revealed they will be entering the studio in March to record their next release.
Frontman Austin Carlile added:
“It’s been an extreme past half year of broken ribs, head, hips, and tour dates. After initial surgeries, followed by more medical exams & tests, and physical therapy multiple times a week, the last few months have been a real hurdle for me mentally and physically. Now that we’ve reached the other side, I’m ready to get the relentless machine that is Of Mice & Men back on track. It will start in March with two and a half months in the studio recording our new album.
Then a UK / European festival run (taking in Slamdunk and Rock Am Ring/Rock Im Park). Next up we will be opening for Slipknot & MM all summer long in America, playing various American rock radio festivals along the way, including Chicago Open Air Festival. We hope our new documentary series ‘The Full Circle Story’ will hold you over for now. We put a lot of time and energy into it and hope you enjoy watching part of our Artemis journey and just how it all came Full Circle. See you on the road. Tell everyone you know,Of Mice & Men is back.”
Killswitch Engage have released a new video for their track “Cut Me Loose” which will be included on the bands upcoming album “Incarnate” set for release on March 11 through Roadrunner Records.
Frontman Jesse Leach said of the song:
“This song is about finding wisdom and understanding through suffering. Often times we don’t realize how far we have come until we reflect back on the past. The past is a story we tell ourselves and often times that story can be difficult to recount. The burdens we carry whether it be past mistakes or regrets can act as a noose inhibiting our growth and progression. There comes a time when we must release the bondage of our burdens and making peace with the demons and darkness of the past. Setting the albatross of regret free and moving on in life if you will.”
Beartooth frontman Caleb Shomo has mentioned the bands new album is now complete and coming soon.
The album was produced by John Feldmann (Black Veil Brides, Papa Roach).
The Black Dahlia Murder have released a new animated video for their track “Threat Level No. 3”, which was written, directed and animated by Adam Avilla.
Frontman Trevor Strnad mentioned:
“Adam has done an amazing job of bringing the fiendish character behind ‘Threat Level No. 3‘ to life in all his despicable glory. This is by far the best video we’ve ever brought forth and the best part of all…You don’t have to look at our ugly faces once!”
