At The Gates have released a new animated video for their track “The Night Eternal”. Costin Chioreanu directed the clip, having also done the artwork for the band’s latest album “At War With Reality”.
Frontman Tomas Lindberg commented:
“‘The Night Eternal‘ is one of the absolute strongest and also emotionally challenging songs on the new record. It is a personal favourite and always gives us an enormous touching feedback when we play it live. Therefore it was a no-brainer for us to choose this song when Costin approached us about the idea of another animated video. This time he has, once again, stunned us with his amazing efforts to portray the emotional aspects of the music and lyrics of our songs. His interpretation of our material has always inspired us to rethink and re-evaluate our own creations, and therefore something new comes out of the project every time he is involved.”
Chioreanu also added:
“The story of “The Night Eternal” speaks about the dark side of human nature and about the tragedy of living now, in a moment when any possible tool for hiding it becomes futile. The Night Eternal is in us, The Night Eternal is what we became, guiding our spiritual evolution using a wrong map, provided by a wrong society. The victim remains lost in a dream of constant need without any perspective of fulfillment.”

At The Gates have released a new video for the track “Death And The Labyrinth”. The song is taken from the bands upcoming album “At War With Reality” which will be released on October 27. Band vocalist Tomas Lindberg had the following to say:
“We had a very special idea about the kind of approach we wanted for the first video from ‘At War With Reality‘. What we needed was someone gifted enough to throw himself artistically into the project full on. The lyrics to the song are very multi-layered and surreal, so we wanted someone to create a fevered dreamworld that went with the melancholic frustration and dramatic desperation that we feel comes across in the song. This is exactly what Patric has created for us. It’s his vision of the music and lyrics, which compliments the track perfectly in my opinion. I couldn’t be happier!”
At The Gates are currently streaming the title track from their upcoming album “At War With Reality”, which is the first taste of new music from the band in 19 years. The album is currently set for release on October 27.
Bassist Jonas Björler has had the following to say regarding the track:
“We have finally reached the moment for the unveiling of a first full brand new At The Gates song! We have put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this record for the past year, and we are very happy to now present you the title track of ‘At War With Reality‘. Let the journey begin…”
