Comeback Kid have announced the departure of their guitarist Casey Hjelmberg from the band. His position will be filled in by Stu Ross (Misery Signals). A statement from the band can be read below:
“We very unfortunately have to announce that our friend and guitar player Casey Hjelmberg has decided to leave Comeback Kid. The split is completely amicable and we’re thankful to have spent as much time with him over the past few years as we have. He let us know early last year that it was time to move on with his life, and we’re sorry to see him go.
Casey has been in Comeback Kid since our original vocalist Scott left in 2006 and Andrew took over vocal duties. He has been a true friend to us all and huge part of why we’ve been able to keep at this for as long as we have. We wish him all the luck in the world and we’re sure he’ll be just fine. In the meantime, our friend Stu Ross will be filling in on guitar. Stu has been on tour with us a bunch with both Misery Signals and Living with Lions. We’re not going to miss a step and we look forward to seeing everyone on tour in 2012.
Our sincere thanks and love go out to Casey. We can’t wait for the year to come and we hope everyone is as excited as we are.”
